Valentine's day

Why celebrating valentine's day is forbidden in Islam?

The answer is simple. Apart from it's a celebration for a saint (Saint Valentinus) who helped marrying 2 Christians in the era where helping Christians is considered as a crime,  this celebration also brings more bad things rather than good things.

One simple scenario:

Imagine you taking out your boyfriend/girlfriend to celebrate Valentine's day. In the spirit of the celebration, couples usually will buy present, go out for dinner or just sit and embracing each other. In this occasion, couples normally will be holding hand or touching each other's cheek and etc. Even if they didn't have sex on Valentine's day, touching a non mahram in what ever way is haram. apalagi kalau have sex.

Quoting what the person stated on her FB status :

Just like how speaking in English doesnt make you a kafir like some people imply.

It is true that speaking in English doesn't make you a kafir because English language is not a language for Christians. Its a language spoken by a specific race not by a specific religion. What if an Indian who is a Christian, cannot speak English at all? Will that make him a non Christian? I dont think so.Try to say that to him, i'm sure he will kill you.

That is why you cannot give this kind of argument in this issue. Its two different things.

Furthermore, speaking English bring a lot of benefits and Islam didn't ask their follower to push good thing aside.

Nabi Muhammad s.a.w did say that, “Sesiapa yang menyerupai sesuatu kaum, maka dia dalam kalangan mereka”

The bottom line is,why do we have to follow things that are coming from other religion? There are 365 days in a year and why don't you show your love everyday? and the most important thing is, do not put some statement about religion when you yourself do not understand about your religion. Do you even pray?or cover your aurat? There are more important thing for you to think of rather than arguing about Valentine's day that is clearly haram in  Islam. Maybe you should correct yourself first before its too late.

Come back to the right path

Apa-apa pun, tentang issue ini, tepuk dada tanyalah selera. Kalau memang kita dah tak suka agama kita sendiri, kita tidak akan cuba memahami agama kita tetapi kita hanya akan cuba memutar belitkan untuk membuktikan keburukan agama kita.

Memang betul, using facebook doesnt mean that you are a jew, tapi samalah dengan tidak mengamalkan agama islam tidak menjadikan kita seorang muslim.

**i dont want to say anything about the comment on that status itself. I dont think its worth my time to argue with a guy who is a big fat drinker and not sure how to baca quran or pray. Kalau dia ada baca tentang post nih. cukup2 la hidup macam orang kafir. marilah kita sama2 mengamalkan gaya hidup Islam. Mati dah tak lama dah! dunia ni pun dah tua

Salam!
